Nature Explorers: Survival Skills

A fun, hands-on adventure where kids (ages 3–8) and their families learn the basics of outdoor survival.

Join us at Dunwoody Nature Center for the final session in our Nature Explorers series—a program designed to spark curiosity and connect young children with the natural world through guided, interactive activities. In this special Survival Skills edition, families will work together to learn the fundamentals of outdoor safety and preparedness. Children will practice shelter building, discover how to safely start a fire, and explore compass navigation through fun, age-appropriate challenges. The adventure wraps up with a sweet reward: roasting s’mores by the fire!

Throughout the series, children collect stamps in their personalized Nature Explorers passport, making each session a unique part of their journey. Whether you’ve joined every session or this is your first, this family-friendly program blends learning, creativity, and outdoor fun.

Registration closes October 23rd. If you are interested in attending after the deadline, please email programs@dunwoodynature.org to check availability.
