Buzz into the world of beekeeping at Dunwoody Nature Center! This hands-on workshop is perfect for kids ages 7-14 who are curious about bees, hives, and the art of beekeeping. Led by experienced beekeepers, this exciting program will introduce young nature lovers to the fascinating world of pollinators and the essential role they play in our ecosystem.

What to Expect:

  • Interactive Lesson – Learn the basics of beekeeping through a fun and engaging presentation.
  • Smoker Lighting – Discover how beekeepers use smoke to calm the hive.
  • Observation Hive – See bees up close in a controlled environment.
  • Honey Extraction Demo – Watch how honey is harvested from the hive!
  • Hive Inspection – Get an inside look at a real working beehive.
  • Bonus Activities – Frame assembly and other exciting beekeeping projects!

Ages: 7-14 (Parent chaperones required, adults attend for free)
Cost: $45 per child (Chaperones free)

A signed liability waiver is required for participation.
