BUTTERFLY EXPERIENCE

September 6 & 7 from 9am - 4pm at Wildcat Park

Experience the magic of up-close encounters with one of nature’s most beautiful pollinators at Dunwoody Nature Center’s Butterfly Experience!

Don’t miss out on this family-friendly event! View hundreds of native butterflies up close in our signature butterfly tents. Wander the Pollinator Pathway to learn about different pollinators at our education stations and meet representatives from other organizations. Meet birds of prey from our friends at Nature’s Echo, pose for a photo op, and learn all about their place in the ecosystem. Plus experience the Kid’s Zone, eat delicious food, meet local vendors, and more!

This annual festival is a can’t miss! This year’s event will be held at Wildcat Park as Dunwoody Nature Center will be under construction building the brand-new Wildcat Creek Learning Lab!

General Admission: $18
Members: $15
Children 3 and Under: Free!

Butterfly tents will be set up on the grounds of Wildcat Park. Tickets are sold in 30 minute increments. Your ticket time is the full window of time you’ll be able to enter the butterfly tent (most attendees will not need the full 30 minutes to explore the tent). All three tents will provide the same species and amount of butterflies.

Please arrive at least 10 minutes BEFORE your ticketed timeslot. Want to enjoy the rest of the festival? Plan on arriving extra early or staying after your ticketed time!

Please note: if you purchase tickets between 3-4 PM, we HIGHLY recommend arriving well before your ticketed time to enjoy the festival! All booths and activities will close at 4 PM.

Live Music & Entertainment

Our main stage will be filled with live entertainment all weekend long! From puppet shows to live music, there is something for everyone to enjoy.

Pollinator Pathway

Grab a map and make sure you stop at all of points along the Pollinator Pathway! Learn about different pollinators at our education stations and meet representatives from other organizations. Pollinators are important – we hope you learn something new while you’re here!

Our friends from Nature’s Echo will be around the festival with a collection of birds of prey! You’ll have the chance to meet them up close, pose for a photo op, and learn all about their place in the ecosystem.

Experience the magic of the Bubble Man, shop from vendors*, and MORE – spend the whole day having fun with us!

Hundreds of Native Butterflies

Our three signature butterfly tents provide an up close look at hundreds of beautiful, delicate butterflies! Attract butterflies using one of our provided nectar sticks or wait for a butterfly to land on you and say hello! Don’t forget your camera to capture memories that will last a lifetime.

Each tent provides views of the same species of butterflies.

Kid's Zone

Make sure to visit this year’s Kid Zone before or after your ticket time! Kids will enjoy arts & crafts, face painting*, and experiencing the magic of the Bubble Man! Play on the playground before enjoying the rest of the festival.

Food & Drinks

A variety of food, drinks, and desserts will be available for purchase throughout the weekend!
