Yes, the schedule for our Dunwoody Nature Center campus Full Day camp program will proceed as outlined in our camp brochure*. 

All weeks of camp to be held at Island Ford camp have been cancelled for Summer 2020. 

*One change in the DNC camp brochure is as follows: Native American Myths, Legends & Lore will be a 3-day camp held June 29-July 1.

Yes, we will have a limited number of spots available for our Early Bird (8:00a-9:15a) and late care (Adventure Club, latest pickup @ 6:00p).  We will only have 18 spaces each per week due to class size limitations. 

No, due to new health guidelines we are limiting the number of people in the camp buildings.  All drop off and pick up will be carpool only and the parents/guardians will need to stay in their vehicles.

Yes, temperatures will be taken by an infrared thermometer each day at drop off and pick up. If campers, Junior Counselors, or staff exhibit the symptoms associated with COVID-19 (chills, cough, shortness of breath, difficulty breathing, other respiratory symptoms, repeated shaking with chills, muscle pain, headache, sore throat, or new loss of taste or smell) they will be dismissed from attending camp until they have had a negative COVID-19 test or have been fever and fever mediation free for seventy-two (72) hours, or other symptoms have improved and at least ten (10) days have passed since symptoms first appeared.

Campers will get hand sanitizer when they are dropped off at camp.  They will wash their hands before snacks and lunch and after restroom breaks.  A hand sanitizer station will be set up in each camp classroom and campers will be directed to use it regularly.   

Each classroom will have EPA-approved disinfectant spray and paper towels for cleaning surfaces during the camp day, between activities and at the end of the day. Bathrooms will be cleaned after every group uses it.

Yes, while indoors. Camp families will be asked to send a labelled cloth face covering (covers your child’s nose and mouth) each day to camp to be worn while indoors in the classroom. Staff and Junior Counselors will be asked to do the same. While outdoors, mask wearing will not be required. 

Camp classes will remain separated from other classes at all times. Classes will be kept to 20 people or less including staff and Junior Counselors. It is understood that maintaining a social distance of 6 feet apart in a classroom setting is not possible and will not be enforced. Mask wearing and increased hygiene practices will help ensure camper safety in these closer proximity settings. 

Where possible, equipment, supplies and other items will not be shared between campers. Campers will be encouraged to bring a labelled container with a few art supplies with them to camp (pencil, crayons, markers, kid scissors and glue stick). We will have extra kits to be borrowed by your camper if needed for the week. If equipment such as toys or games are shared amongst campers, they will be sanitized before another camp group uses them. 

Due to the unforeseen circumstances surrounding COVID-19, we are altering our refund policy. Beginning 5/14/2020, any cancellations requested at least 1 week prior to the camp session start date will be refunded minus the administration and credit card processing fees. This will equate to a 93% refund of your total registration fee. All cancellations must be requested in writing via email (Camp@dunwoodynature.org), no phone calls please.

Your registration fee can be transferred to another camp week during Summer 2020 that has open spots remaining. Your registration fee cannot be transferred to any other school break camp sessions in 2020 or to Summer Camp 2021. You may also choose to donate your camp fee to the nature center for a tax deductible donation.
