Diwali in Dunwoody: Story Walk

Dunwoody is set to come alive with the vibrant festivities of Diwali, the Festival of Lights!

From October 17-19, 2024, join us as we celebrate this significant cultural event across the city. Led by Create Dunwoody, immerse yourself in the essence of Diwali at various locations throughout Dunwoody. Experience the warmth, vibrancy, and diverse range of activities for all ages. Join us here at Dunwoody Nature Center on October 17-18th  for a vibrant reenactment of The Story of Diwali! 🎉✨ Immerse yourself in the traditional tale, followed by a magical Diya lighting ceremony symbolizing the triumph of light over darkness. 🪔

The event will take place over two nights at Dunwoody Nature Center. Each evening will host two shows allowing everyone to participate and enjoy the festivities.

October 17, 2024

• First Show: 6:00 PM (Check-in begins at 6 PM, the show will start promptly at 6:30 PM)
• Second Show: 7:45 PM (Check-in begins at 7:15 PM, the show will start promptly at 7:45PM.)

October 18, 2024

• First Show: 6:00 PM (Check-in begins at 6 PM, the show will start promptly at 6:30 PM)
• Second Show: 7:45 PM (Check-in begins at 7:15 PM, the show will start promptly at 7:45PM)

What to expect: Each narrated forest walk is 45 minutes. You’ll experience a vibrant reenactment of The Story of Diwali — celebrating lights, joy, and triumph over darkness. Enjoy light refreshments and warm beverages along with surprise treats at the conclusion of the walk.

Location: Dunwoody Nature Center – 5339 Chamblee Dunwoody Rd, Dunwoody, GA 30338

Parking: Parking is complimentary for guests. Guests are invited to park in the spaces available in the Dunwoody Nature Center parking lot. Additional parking is available in the upper lot of Austin Elementary School. We also encourage utilizing ride share to avoid any challenges with parking.
