DUNWOODY NATURE CENTER PRESENTS: THE FOREST BATHING SERIES

Dunwoody, GA— In response to the popularity of our Forest Bathing programming, The Dunwoody Nature Center has added additional sessions on Sunday, July 12th from 9:00 a.m. – noon and Saturday, August 8th from 8:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m.

Forest bathing, or shinrin-yoku, is a Japanese form of nature therapy that is designed to connect you with nature. The word, “bathing” refers to the idea of absorbing your natural surroundings using all of the senses, rather than anything to do with water. Forest bathing aims to bring healing through connection to nature and trees. The practice is said to enhance well-being, reduce stress and restore calm.

A recent participant shared, “Forest Bathing was a wonderful spiritual experience, more than I could have imagined!  I believe in my heart more and more people are seeking a connection with Mother Earth and her bountiful gifts.”

Join Robin Hancock, Certified Forest Therapy Guide, for a 2 1/2 – 3 hour session at Dunwoody Nature Center.  Event is all outdoors and is rain or shine. Tickets $45 per session. Membership benefits apply. no refunds please.

More about your guide Robin Hancock: As an outdoor enthusiast, Robin has always been aware of the benefits intrinsic to being in nature.  Through her own profound personal experiences, Robin was led to Forest Therapy and decided to become a guide, retiring from her former profession to pursue this new practice – thus she considers it her calling.  Robin was Certified as a Forest Therapy Guide by the Association of Nature and Forest Therapy in 2016 and, as the owner of Renewal by Nature, serves North Georgia through public and private walks, corporate and small business team building, and working with non-profit organizations.
