MLK Day of Service

January 18, 2021 @ 9:00 am - 12:00 pm

The Martin Luther King Jr. holiday on Jan. 18, 2021, marks the 26th anniversary of the day of service that celebrates the Civil Rights leader’s life and legacy. Observed each year on the third Monday in January as “a day on, not a day off,” MLK Day is the only federal holiday designated as a national day of service to encourage all Americans to volunteer to improve their communities.

To promote social distancing, sign-up is mandatory.

Serve Safely

We have guidelines in place to ensure a socially-safe environment:

  • Spread out over 22 acres of preserved woodlands
  • Feel safe with health screenings for every volunteer (temperature checks with infrared thermometer)
  • Stay responsible with a max group size of 25 people

We also ask that volunteers bring a mask, snacks, a water bottle, and their own pair of gloves. We will have a water cooler available, but we cannot offer cups or food at this time. Masks are only needed if social distancing cannot be maintained. We make a point to spread out volunteers so that social distancing is not an issue while they are working.
