How to garden to attract birds and other wildlife!
Presented by: Dunwoody Nature Center and the North Metro Atlanta Chapter of the Georgia Native Plant Society!
During the last 50 years, we have lost almost 3 billion birds in the world due to a series of factors. In this entertaining and interactive presentation, Trecia will discuss some of the issues that have contributed to this decline. Homeowners are in a unique position to help arrest and reverse this decline. Trecia will also discuss the amazing anatomy of birds, how we classify birds, easy tips to identify common birds in your yard, and most importantly, ways to improve your habitat to attract birds.

About Trecia Neal: Trecia was a biologist at Fernbank Science Center for over 30 years. Her areas of expertise are ornithology, environmental education, establishing outdoor classrooms and gardens, and educating the public about the wonders of monarchs. Trecia has a bachelor’s in biology and a master’s in science education with an emphasis in animal behavior. She retired in 2017 and since then has formed an LLC called Green Gardens Education and Designs and works with homeowners and public entities to make their property appropriate for wildlife.
