SUMMARY:Kids Clay Class
DESCRIPTION:In this hands-on class, Lilly Vicens of Tulip Tree Tales (a pottery studio based in Suwanee) will guide your child through creating their very own pinch pot animal. Using simple handbuilding techniques, they’ll shape, sculpt, and glaze whatever animal they want—they can make a playful puppy, a curious cat, or a fantasy creature, the choice is theirs! Participants will work with stoneware clay and brush-on glazes, learning tips and tricks for adding personality to each piece. The finished clay animal will be kiln-fired at Tulip Tree Tales and returned to Dunwoody Nature Center in about two weeks for pickup, great to display or gift. Recommended for children ages 7-12. Email caitlin@dunwoodynature.org with questions.\nPlease plan to arrive at least 10-15 minutes prior to the start time to get settled. No refunds or cancellations after one week prior to the class date. If the class minimum is not met you will receive a full refund.\nAbout the instructor: Lilly Vicens is a ceramic artist inspired by the natural world. She makes both sculptural and functional pottery from her home studio in Suwanee, often incorporating native plants from her garden into her work to highlight the beauty of native ecosystems. This is Lilly’s fourth year teaching mobile clay classes in the North Metro Atlanta area, and she enjoys sharing her love of pottery with people of all ages.\nProject example:\n\nDate: Saturday, March 21stTime: 11:30 AM – 1:00 PMCost: $35\n
