Earth Day Weekend Events

This year, we have TWO days of Earth Day festivities!

Epic Earth Day

April 20th, 2018

The nature center is bringing some more art to the park this April. Join us as we celebrate Earth Day and National Poetry Month from 7:30 PM – 10:00 PM.

Reduce, Reuse, Recycle, and Reconnect with nature in a night full of interactive, educational, and relaxing activities for all ages. Friday Night Hikes will take place as usual, but this time with a few added surprises. While you wait for your hike to start, or if you just want to stop by the Nature Center for some Earth Day festivities, there will be fun activity tables set up to learn about how you can lower your impact on the environment! We will also be celebrating National Poetry Month with an adult and child-friendly nature-themed poem scavenger hunt in the park and other epic poetry-related activities. Stick around for a seat by the fire and grab a cup of hot chocolate, because the night isn’t over. The Astronomy club will be at the park celebrating with us too! All activities are optional, and every guest is welcome to participate in one or all parts of the night.

Check back for more information leading up to the Earth Day weekend. We hope to see you there! Please register here if you will be attending Epic Earth Day and/or the night hike.

Earth Day Eve

April 21st, 2018

If you’re still up for more, join us Saturday morning for yoga in the Meadow. Taught by the wonderful Kristen Leigh of Sweet Escape Yoga, the outdoor yoga class will start at 10:00 AM.

Later in the afternoon, we will also have an Eco Explorers class. Sign up here for you and your child.

All day long from 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM we will also have our annual Paint Recycling event. Do you have buckets of paint that you need to get rid of but aren’t sure how? Bring old paint over to us, and we will take care of the recycling for you!

Earth Day

April 22nd, 2018

We do not have any special events planned on Sunday, but please come to the park to enjoy the outdoors this Earth Day. Spend some time reconnecting with nature by walking our trails, playing on the playground, hanging out in the meadow, and watching birds in the gardens.
