Homeschoolers
"Nature as antidote. Stress reduction, greater physical health, a deeper sense of spirit, more creativity, a sense of play, even a safer life - these are the rewards that await a family when it invites more nature into children's lives." Richard Louv, Last Child in the Woods: Saving Our Children from Nature-Deficit Disorder.

Nature Show-and-Tell Club

Grades K-2 (equivalent)
First Wednesday of the Month beginning September 1
11:00 - Noon
Explore nature and share your discoveries! Students will come to each meeting with something related to nature, then present it to other members of the club. Options include a book, picture, poster, model, or something from nature.
Caution: If you bring something from nature, it must be something that you found on the ground in your backyard, not something removed from a living plant or taken from a nest. Pets are not allowed. Live animals found in nature should be observed where they are and remain where they are - take a photo instead or draw a picture! Always ask for an adult's help in planning your show-and-tell item. Discoveries may not be collected from the Nature Center. If you are uncertain about bringing an item that might be under legal regulation (such as bird feathers, endangered species, etc.,) please research at home or contact our Program Manager for guidance.
Limited to 15 children per class.
