Night
Owls
Learn about the lives of owls. Dissect owl pellets, play games, and take an owl hike calling for local species. Meets a variety of wildlife-oriented Boy Scout and Girl Scout requirements.
Evening Program - 2.5 hours beginning at dusk
$20/person
Overnight Program - Dusk to 8:00 am
$35/person
- Overnight campers can sleep indoors or camp outside.

Camping 101
Camp in Dunwoody Park and learn the basics of camping. Learn outdoor and fire safety, how to start a fire, how to pitch a tent, and take a night hike to explore the park after dark. Don't have a tent? Rent one at REI! Evening and overnight options available - the educational program lasts 2.5 hours.

Specifics for ALL Family, Scout, and Youth Group Overnights...
- One adult per six children must be present.
- Adults are FREE for Scout programs.
- Overnights are held on-site at DNC. Nite Owls overnight inside the Nature Center building; Camping 101 overnights either in the building or outdoors in the park.
- Evening Programs: 2.5 hours beginning at dusk.
- Overnight Programs: Arrive before dusk with the educational program starting just after dark. Overnight programs end at 8 am the following day.
- No dinner or breakfast provided.
- Weather permitting, overnights include a campfire and S'mores. During drought conditions, S'mores may be cooked over a camping stove instead of a campfire.
- In case of severe weather officially designated by NOAA.gov, the program may be postponed or cancelled. Otherwise (rain, wind, cold temperatures, etc.), camping events take place as scheduled.

What are your operating hours?
Dunwoody Nature Center is open Monday - Friday, 9am - 5pm and on some weekends for scheduled programs. Admission to the center and Dunwoody Park is FREE.
How do I schedule a program?
- Call our Program Manager to check availability and schedule your event.
- Pay a non-refundable deposit of $150 for evening programs and $200 for overnights at least 3 weeks prior to your trip date.
- For All Programs: Pay your balance, calculated on the number of scouts or participants who attend, on the day of your visit. You can pay with a check or with our online payment.
Can we picnic & play in the park before or after the program?
Yes, absolutely! Enjoy Wildcat Creek, our playground and our picnic tables during your visit.
Can our troop, organization, or company become members of Dunwoody Nature Center?
YES! Sign your troop up as a Member of DNC for $50/year.
